Our story
Bass Rave was born from Kristiansand’s vibrant underground scene. It began as a small gathering of friends with a shared love of pounding beats and raw energy. Over the years, it has developed into an established event series that brings together international talent and local legends. From the intense heat of Solbrent to the icy embrace of Frostbitt, our journey has been a relentless pursuit of the ultimate rave experience.
The Bass Rave concept began in 2021, when the COVID-19 restrictions were lifted. The goal was to create more underground electronic music events in Kristiansand. We first organised “Bass and Time”, followed by a series of “Bass Rave” events. In 2024, we organised three indoor Bass Rave events; the largest concept, held in January, is called Frostbitt.
Frostbitt
Frostbitt was first held in January 2024. The idea was to bring the rave indoors while the cold raged outside, in the middle of winter when little else was happening. The event took place at Bare Studenthus and all 300 tickets sold out. A host of talented musicians and DJs, together with high-quality sound, lighting, staging and experiences, generated excellent feedback and made us want to do it again. Frostbitt 2025 took place at Studenten in Havnekvartalet. We created a relaxed winter atmosphere and a first-class celebration for everyone who loves to rave.
Solbrent
Solbrent is a two-day outdoor BASS RAVE festival. It was first held in August 2023 as a one-day event at Odden. In 2024, we moved the stage to Bendiksbukta, where 500 people came to experience 20 artists representing different electronic music genres. The sound, lighting and staging created a unique experience, and the positive feedback inspired us to do it again. In 2025, we welcomed around 600 visitors, featured 30 artists and expanded to two stages—Odden and Bendiksbukta. In 2026, we will build on the success of last year.
